Chelsea have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Atlético Madrid over the transfer of defender Filipe Luís.

The Brazilian left-back has been linked with a switch to west London since the 2013/14 season concluded.

However, it wasn’t known if the Blues would be willing to meet the amount Atlético were demanding for the defender.

It has now been confirmed that the two clubs have reached an agreement regarding the fee for the Brazilian.

The official Chelsea club website today released a statement regarding the future of Filipe Luís, it read: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm an agreement has been reached with Atlético Madrid for the transfer of Filipe Luís.

“The move is subject to the 28-year-old left-back agreeing personal terms.”

No fee has yet been mentioned but the Brazilian has previously revealed his desire to move to the Premier League and it appears Chelsea will sign another Atlético player shortly.
