Former Brazil assistant coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has claimed that he found out about his recent unemployment via the internet and not the CBF.

Head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari offered his resination to Brazil’s football governing body yesterday and, with the offer duly accepted, his backroom team found themselves out of a job as well.

But second-in-command Parreira, who lead Brazil to their fourth World Cup title in the USA in 1994, revealed that he had no idea about the news.

“I’m waiting on an answer from the CBF about my future and all the caoching staff.”, he told ESPN Brazil, “They still haven’t contacted me about this.”

“I really didn’t know about this information. So, you know, the staff is no longer in charge of the team, this is CBF’s position, but it’s all news to me, I wasn’t aware of that until now.”
