FIFA Secretary-General Jérôme Valcke expects the next two World Cups in Russia and Qatar to match Brazil’s hosting of the tournament.

The decision to use those two nations has drawn criticism, but Valcke is confident that they can put on an excellent competition.

“The World Cup is above everything. It’s a machine you cannot stop,” he said, as reported by BBC Sport. ”When you take the responsibility – as per your wish – to organise a World Cup, you have to understand that you have to be the best and you have to deliver the most important event.

“The people from Russia and Qatar who have been in Brazil, they have learned a lot and they know what the challenge is.

“I’m sure the next two World Cups will be as beautiful as this one – different, but as beautiful as the one here in Brazil.”
