Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani has admitted that he’s tracked new signing Alex since 2005.
The Brazilian defender has arrived at the San Siro-based club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain and Galliani is delighted to have finally captured the veteran stopper.
“Alex is a player with an important career,” he said, as reported by Football Italia.
“We followed him for so many years, we faced him in 2005 when he was with PSV. We tried to buy him before he signed for Chelsea.
“We beat a lot of competition to snatch Alex, whilst PSG also wanted to keep him.
“He is a major signing, we have added pounds and centimetres to our defence.”
