Luiz Felipe Scolari is set to be replaced once Brazil have contested the third/fourth place play-off against Netherlands on Saturday according to several reports in Brazil.

The aftermath following the host nations 7-1 World Cup semi-final defeat to Germany on Tuesday night has seen the current Brazil head coach come under intense pressure.

Lancenet believe former Corinthians boss Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, known as Tite, is the top candidate to replace Scolari but there is a growing feeling towards appointing a foreign head coach.

Tite has an impressive recent CV and achieved much success with Corinthians taking them to Copa Libertadores and FIFA Club World Cup glory in 2012 before winning the Recopa Sudamericana a year later.

The men tasked with appointing the next head coach are José Maria Marin, president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and his deputy Marco Polo Del Nero.

Del Nero will assume the presidency in April 2015 though so it is believed the final decision will be greatly influenced by his opinion.

When Scolari was appointed in place of Mano Menezes, only Brazilians were considered for the role but Del Nero is open to selecting a foreign candidate.

While Tite is said to be “waiting for a chance” to manage the Brazil squad, the CBF may decide it is time to try a foreign coach.
