Fred insists he doesn’t care about boos from Brazil fansScolari's faith in Fred wasn't rewarded
Brazil forward Fred insists he doesn’t care about the boos he suffered at Belo Horizonte yesterday and is only hurt by the final scoreline.
The host nation was demolished 7-1 by Germany in yesterday’s World Cup semi-final and the experienced striker received some of the anger from the home crowd.
When the 30-year-old was substituted in the 69th minute he was booed off the pitch and his previous touches prior to that were jeered too.
Chinagate.cn quoted Fred and he insisted the boos don’t make him sad, he added: "That doesn't disappoint me and doesn't make me sad. Boos are a part of football. What hurts me is the result.
"I am very sad and disappointed for the way it happened. This was the worst match of our lives.”
Contrary to comments from international team mate Dani Alves, Fred does believe the defeat will leave scars for the Brazil players.
He concluded: "A loss like this will mark the careers of all of us. It leaves a scar that we'll have to carry for the rest of our lives. We have to stick with the people that will help us get through this."
Many are now predicting that Fred won’t appear for Brazil again after this tournament and he’ll be made a scapegoat for the disastrous defeat.
