Germany head coach Joachim Low claims that Brazil are an extremely strong team and have dealt with the pressures of hosting a World Cup so well that they cannot be written off in tonight’s Semi Final.

Many have written off Brazil after losing their captain and star player to suspension and injury respectively, but Low sees it differently: “We all know how strong Brazil are.”

“They were the big favourites right from the start and the players have mostly coped with this role outstandingly. They underlined at the Confederations Cup last year that the expectation levels lift them further and the pressure doesn’t numb them.”

“What they’ve done is good for the whole tournament; it’s good when the hosts go so far, but we’re self-confident and we’ve gelled more as the tournament has progressed.”

Germany are marginal favourites for tonight’s game and indeed the whole competition, with the winners this evening facing either Argentina or Holland in the Final on Sunday at the Maracana.
