Brazilian midfielder Bernard, who is thought to be in contention to replace crocked star Neymar for Brazil’s push to win the World Cup, has lamented the loss of Selecao’s main man ahead of their semi final with Germany tomorrow evening.

The hosts take on their European opponents in Belo Horizont and Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Bernard told FIFA’s official website: “We were all very sad at the situation and also because Neymar was very sad. Of course the whole group has felt this loss.”

“He is a big loss not just as a player but also as a person. He is always smiling and saying positive things. But we have to be calm and overcome it. We know that we have other players who will be able to replace him.”

Head Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari must decide whether to use Bernard or Willian in tomorrow’s game, or even bring in the likes of Ramires to shore up a midfield that will be up against it in the face of a very talented German opposition.
