Brazil captain Thiago Silva has suggested that Chelsea attacker Willian could be the man to replace injured star Neymar for Brazil’s World Cup Semi Final with Germany this coming Tuesday.

Thiago, who will himself miss thegame through suspension, told reporters after last night’s 2-1 win over Colombia: “Neymar is a boy who dreamed so much of this time. I’m sure we have good spare parts.”

“I believe very much in Willian, who has almost the same features as Neymar and believe in this moment he will fill the gap very well. This is where we have to show the strength of the group.”

Head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari will have other options of course; he could also select Bernard as his attacking spark, or even Hernanes to add more stability to the middle of the park.

Tuesday’s game in Belo Horizonte, which kicks off at 2100 BST, will pit the hosts against the toughest of opponents; Germany have reached this stage at the last four World Cups and have made the semi-finals 13 times out of 18 tournaments played.
