Germany have moved ahead of Brazil as favourites for the World Cup after the hosts" star player neymar was ruled out of the rest of the tournament with a broken bone in his back.

The Barceona front man suffered the injury towards the end of Brazil"s 2-1 win over Colombia in last night"s entertaining Quarter Final, and will not play a further part in proceedings.

The suspension of captain Thiago Silva for Tuesday"s Semi Final with Germany has also provided head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari with a huge selection dilemma, and contributed towards the fact that the Germans are now 9/4 for the competition; previous favourites Brazil are now 5/2.

Everything appears to be going against Scolari"s men at this current stage, with their next opponents having the luxury of a full squad to pick from for the Final showdown.

David Luiz will assume the captaincy for the game, with Dante or Henrique to replace Thiago and Willian likely to come in for Neymar.
