Brazilian striker Leo Baptistao’s future at Atletico Madrid appears to be in the balance after it emergeed in the Spanish press that he could be the subject of a swap deal involving Levante goalkeeper Kaylor Navas.

The Costa Rican stopper has been one of the stories of the World Cup after helping his side reach the tournament quarter finals in a remarkable run- and Spanish champions Atletico want him to replace outbound Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois.

According to reports on insidespanishfootball.com, Levante have already turned down an offer of €5 million plus Baptistao as they hold out for a release-clause fee of double that amount.

Baptistao’s time in Madrid has been one of uncertainty from the off. The 21 year-old joined the club in 2013 from Rayo Vallecano but was loaned immediatley to relegated Real Betis and scored a mere one goal for the Sevillians in 17 appearances as they were relegated from La Liga.
