The Barcelona forward was not adjudged to be the top playmaker after the World Cup second round matches.
Fifa’s Castrol Index scored Neymar at 9.59 following the game against Chile, whilst Colombia’s James Rodriguez (9.74), Karim Benzema of France (9.7) and the Netherlands’ Arjen Robben (9.66) were all ranked higher.
However, Neymar was seen to have exceeded performances by Croatia’s Ivan Perisic (9.53) and Thomas Mueller of Germany (9.48).
