Ethics committee confirms claims of match fixing against Cameroon will be investigated
FIFA’s Ethics Committee have confirmed they will follow allegations that matches involved Cameroon have been fixed.
A known match fixer is believed to have made allegations regarding their defeat to Croatia at the 2014 FIFA World Cup to German newspaper Der Spiegel and the Ethics Committee have assured that they are willing to investigate these claims.
“Recent allegations of fraud around Cameroon's 2014 FIFA World Cup three preliminary games, especially Cameroon versus Croatia, as well of the 'existence of seven bad apples [in our national team]' do not reflect the values and principles promoted by our administration, in line with FIFA's code of conduct and the ethics of our nation,” said a statement, according to Football Espana.
“We are strongly committed to employ all means necessary to resolve this disruptive matter in the shortest delays."
