Former Brazil international Cesar Sampaio has fond memories of facing Chile at the World Cup, sixteen years after he scored two goals to help eliminate them at the second round stage.

The same fixture has fallen in the 2014 edition of the tournament, and Sampaio told globo.com: “I wouldn’t say it was the best game of my life, but it was the only one in my career when I scored two goals.”

“It was a special game for me. I was in a great timeI just got called up when I least expected it and had an important participation.”

On tomorrow’s game against the modern day Chile, Sampaio added: “Chile will require much more than Mexico, Croatia and Cameroon. I picture a 2-1 or 2-0. I think it will be a close result.”

Brazil go into the game in Belo Horizonte after a less than convincing group stage performance, yet they progressed where the likes of Spain, England and italy failed to.
