Fernandinho calls for fans to get behind Seleção in their pursuit of ‘hexa’
Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has tweeted ahead of Brazil’s Group A match against Cameroon tonight that fans need to get behind the country.
Although fellow Premier League star Paulinho has been in poor form, it is expected that Fernandinho will remain as a substitute this evening.
However, he can expect to be called into action at some point and has asked for fans to support Seleção.
The City ace tweeted: “Good morning, today is the day Brazil take to the field. Express your support for Seleção. Go Brazil, towards hexa.”
Hexa means six times in Brazilian and it seems the 29-year-old is confident that Brazil can still claim glory despite their poor start to the tournament.
Fans have largely remained with Seleção in their two matches despite difficult periods throughout and they’ll need to be by their side throughout the competition if Brazil are to make it all the way.
Tonight's game in Brasilia will be accompanied by Sambafoot's live text commentary from 20:00 GMT, as well as analysis and comment before and after the match has been played.
