Brazil captain Thiago Silva has issued a rallying call to his troops ahead of the final Group A fixture against Cameroon this evening, telling them that winning is simply the most important thing, no matter how it may be achieved.

The AC Milan defender told a pre-match press conference: “We want to show that we are a cohesive, united team. We had some difficulties, but this is normal. We want to show that we don’t fear commitment.”

“We have much respect for Cameroon, but we need to make a great game in order to reach the next stage. We can not let them surprise us.”

A win for Brazil would take them into the second round, almost certainly as group winners, where they would face the runners-up in Group B, either Chile or Netherlands; that section will be decided four hours prior to the end of tonght’s game in Brasilia.

Sambafoot, as alwyas, will be bringing you live text commentary of the game from 2000 GMT, with post-match analysis and comment to follow.
