The Barcelona player says that other teams must learn from the world champions’ elimination at the group stages.

Spain went out of the World Cup after defeats to the Netherlands and Chile, and Alves believes that there is a lesson to take from their performances.

He said: “It’s a shame, I’m sorry for my teammates playing in the Spain national team, but it is a lesson for everyone here. It demonstrates that the World Cup is not any competition, it is a lesson to all who think they know football, that theories are easier than the practice.”
