Brazil goalkeeper Júlio César defends under-fire Spanish stopper Iker Casillas
Brazil goalkeeper Júlio César has defended under-fire Spanish stopper Iker Casillas.
The Real Madrid custodian made crucial errors against both Netherlands and Chile, as La Furia Roja crashed out of the World Cup with one group game to spare.
Speaking at a press conference, César insisted mistakes are part of football and believes Casillas deserves more respect.
“Casillas deserves respect. Mistakes have happened at the World Cup but he will never stop being a successful goalkeeper,” he said, as reported by Football Espana.
“And that’s what the Spain fans have to understand. Mistakes are a normal thing.”
