Atlético Madrid forward Diego Costa has explained why he is set to join Chelsea.
The 25 year-old, who was born in Brazil but represents Spain at international level, admits the standard of the Premier League is a big draw and also admires Chelsea’s stature.
“Why did I choose to sign for Chelsea? It’s going to happen,” he said, as reported by AS and Football Espana.
“It’s all about taking my career in the right direction. If all goes well, that’s where I’ll be next season.
“I’ve always wanted to play in the Premier League and Chelsea are one of the best teams in the world, so there were a lot of reasons that led me to make my decision.
“Each season is different but none are easy. I’m going to have to work hard to adapt to the style of the Premier League.”
