David Luiz yesterday shared a nice moment with a young fan at a Brazilian training session, continuing a trend that the 2014 World Cup has seen so far whereby footballers are coming across as good people and not simply the money-thirsty mercenaries that their reputation generally affords them.

A young fan, known by the name on the back of his shirt as Daniel Jr, managed to run over to the new PSG signing and broke down in tears as he did; Luiz simply hugged the starstruck youngster and gave him an autographed training top as a gift.

It is a further show of humility from the players at this year’s tournament, after similar acts from Neymar and Spain defender Gerard Pique in the past few weeks.
