Croatia head coach Niko Kovac has ordered his team to not participate in interviews with the media for the duration of the 2014 World Cup, unless it is specifically demanded by tournament organisers FIFA.

The news comes after pictures of the squad were taken by stealthy journalists at their team hotel depicting some nude swimming.

Kovac was so angered by the invasion of privacy that he has cut ties with the press as a result: “How would you feel if someone took naked pictures of you?”

“They are adamant that they will not speak to you lot anymore. I don’t know whether the silence will end tomorrow or last until the end of our World Cup campaign.”

The news comes as the Croatians prepare for their vital Group A clash with Cameroon in Manaus on Wednesday evening, the losers of which would be eliminated from the World Cup.
