Brazilian Júlio César expressed his delight after Brazil’s opening game win against Croatia and took the opportunity to wish the Italian team all the best.
The 34-year-old spent several years in Italy with Internazionale and therefore holds the country close to his heart.
Speaking about Brazil’s 3-1 World Cup victory, he discussed Italy’s first match with England on Saturday.
Football Italia quoted Júlio César, he said: “It’s a difficult game, but I wish Italy all the best because it is a country that gave me a wonderful welcome, especially the Inter supporters.
“I take this opportunity to salute them.”
After Brazil’s opening game win, Júlio César will be hoping to see Italy defeat England in Group D tomorrow.
