Brazil forward Hulk has moved to allay fears that he sustained an injury in Brazil’s lacklustre 3-1 World Cup win over Croatia last night.

The Zenit St. Petersburg striker was replaced by Bernard after 68 minutes with the score still poised at 1-0 and he told reporters after the game: “My left thigh was a little tired, in pain.”

“But I could get on the field and help the squad. Scolari managed to do what was asked (get the three points). It’s nothing to worry about, I’m fine now and I have a day to rest and well well enough for the next game.”

Hulk failed to impress in his hour on the pitch in Sao Paulo but could not be faulted for his work rate in a defensive capacity as Brazil stayed under pressure for much of the match.
