Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo has admitted it is a dream to play the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The 35 year-old, who has been capped 109 times at international level and was part of the Azzurri side that won the 2006 FIFA World Cup, believes the chance to win the tournament in Brazil is an added incentive.

“It is the dream of every player to be at a World Cup in Brazil, the nation of football,” he said, as reported by Football Italia. “It’s not something that happens often, so we have the chance to make this a World Cup to be remembered for all our lives.”

Italy have been drawn in Group D alongside Costa Rica, England and Uruguay. Cesare Prandelli’s men kick-off the tournament against England in Manaus on Saturday.
