Fiorentina midfielder Rômulo remains keen to represent Italy at international level, according to his representative Adriano Di Vittorio.

The 27 year-old, who was born in Brazil, had the chance to play for the Azzurri at this summer’s FIFA World Cup, but turned it down due to injury problems.

Despite that setback, Di Vittorio insists that Rômulo is focused on getting fully fit and is hopeful of making his Italy debut at some point in the near future.

“Rômulo will be back in the summer completely healed, motivated and in better shape than ever,” he told Calciomercato.com. “He’ll be certainly even more determined and convinced he can be part of the Nazionale.

“The future will say whether he’ll still be a Hellas Verona player or at another club.”
