The PSG flyer has spoken of his hurt at missing out on the 2014 World Cup squad.

In an interview with GloboEsporte.com, Lucas Moura said: “When the list came out I was so upset, I was sad, it"s a dream of mine to play a World Cup here in my country. After about two or three days it really sunk in, alone in a quiet house, I began to remember everything, I cried a lot. Normal, natural, is it not?"

He took the opportunity to send his support to the Seleção players, and resolved to make the next World Cup squad.

“I just wanted to send a big hug and say I"m here with all the Brazilian people cheering for you to bring this hexa [a sixth World Cup title] to us and for us to have joy in our country, which is struggling with so many problems. May you have the same spirit we had in the Confederations Cup, I"m sure that if it happens it brings us this hexa and we will live in a very happy country.

“It hurts, you know, I wanted to be there with them, but it happens, I am there in 2018."
