Italy defender Ignazio Abate has named Brazil amongst his favourites for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The 27 year-old, who has been capped 20 times at international level, believes Italy are just below the likes of the Seleção and Argentina, but is confident that they have prepared for the tournament as best as possible.

"We did great work at Coverciano, tiring work," he said, as reported by Football Italia. "We worked a lot, so I think we will arrive and start [the tournament] in the best conditions.

"Without doubt the favourites are Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Germany. We start a little below that level, but there are a lot of teams who could be a revelation."
