After an unconvincing 1-0 win against Serbia, Luiz Felipe Scolari was left making a defence of Oscar when a journalist mentioned criticism of the player.

Oscar, who was replaced by his Chelsea teammate Willian for the second time in a week, was in front of the media too, and downplayed the competition between the pair.

In an interview with Globo, Oscar said: “[A dispute is] natural, not only Willian and I [fight for places]. We showed that we are all well today and I hope to be even better for the World Cup."

The midfielder admitted that he had trouble sleeping last night but is in good spirits after the birth of his daughter.

“Yesterday, I almost did not sleep, it"s an amazing feeling, I"m very happy, with the win today also. It was a tough game, the Serbian team is good."
