Manchester City’s Fernandinho confident Neymar will be decisive in the World Cup
Barcelona forward Neymar has the weight of a nation on his shoulders but his international team mates all appear confident that the young forward can handle the pressure.
Brazil captain Thiago Silva recently insisted that the 22-year-old will be a star at the 2014 World Cup and now Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has echoed those sentiments.
Fernandinho feels Neymar will grow as the tournament progresses and believes he can be decisive for Brazil, like previous players have been in past tournament successes.
Ronaldo was one of the stars in their 2002 World Cup triumph and the young Barcelona forward will hope to follow in his footsteps.
Inside Spanish Football quoted Fernandinho, who is confident Neymar will deliver in the tournament that is due to star next Thursday.
He said: “The previous times Brazil has won the World Cup, they had a major player, outstanding.
“Brazil have a solid base and a support system surrounding Neymar, who will grow in this competition. I’m sure he’ll be decisive in a few World Cup games.”
