Napoli defender Henrique has expressed his delight at being handed an opportunity in yesterdays friendly match against Panama.
The Brazilian was subbed on for David Luiz in the 70th minute as Seleção cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory.
And though the 27-year-old wasn’t called upon too many times, he put in a solid cameo performance to remind Luiz Felipe Scolari that he is more than capable of stepping up should he be required.
Henrique told SporTV: “Everyone has that will and I thank God I had this opportunity.
“We have to be quiet, have a walk ahead, it has been a long and hard fight, it is important to be able to come in and help Seleção.”
Brazil were expected to defeat Panama easily and though they achieved that, Henrique still thinks they can improve.
He concluded: “Brazil is to be congratulated, we are on the right path now but we need to improve a few things.”
