Brazil's Group A opponents Mexico lose out to Bosnia Hercegovina in friendly
Mexico spluttered to their first international loss since October of last year after losing to fellow World Cup finalists Bosnia-Hercegovina in Chicago on Tuesday evening.
The North American side, who are perennial qualifiers, lost out to tournament debutants Bosnia thanks to a 41st minute goal from Izet Hajrovic, the Galatasaray midfielder.
With Mexico playing a full-strength team, the result will be worrying for national team boss Miguel Herrera, who planned this game as preparation for facing Croatia in Group A of the World Cup, alongside competition hosts Brazil and Cameroon.
Mexico's fine unbeaten run, which actually secured them a late place at the upcoming championships after a poor start to qualifying, began after they lost to Costa Rica over six months ago; they face Portugal on Thursday evening in Massachusetts in a final World Cup dry run.
