Barcelona have confirmed that Brazilian midfeilder Rafinha Alcantara will play a part in the first team from next season after spending a productive loan spell with Celta Vigo in the campaign just passed.

Rafinha, son of former Selecao star Mazinho, was unsure of his future at the Catalan giants, but the appointment of former Celta boss Luis Enrique at Barca has opened the door for the 21 year-old to try to cement a place under a new regime.

And, unlike older brother Thiago, Rafinha has pleged his allegiance to Brazil as the country he would like to represent, should the opportunity arise.

He said of his return to the Camp Nou: “I trained here for seven years and back then it was a great dream. It’s a challenge and I hope to learn from great players.”

Also back at the club is winger Gerard Deulofeu, who had spent last term on loan in England, at Everton.
