Paulinho insists he never thought about leaving Tottenham Hotspur despite complicated first campaign
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho is another Brazilian that struggled in the 2013/14 campaign but despite those teething problems, he never thought about leaving the club.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks but insists a move away from White Hart Lane never crossed his mind.
The Brazilian was quoted by Sky Sports, after speaking to Globo Esporte, he said: "I was on bench for a period, but I never considered returning to Brazil.
"It's complicated for a player when he goes to Europe, you have to be strong.
"I went through complicated situations in Lithuania and Poland and returned to Brazil."
Paulinho did reveal that he has conversations with his agent but refuted claims that he was looking to leave the north London club.
Although the Brazilian had a mixed first campaign, with a new manager at the helm, the 2014/15 season may be more fruitful for himself and the club.
For this reason, it may be a positive that the Spurs midfielder hasn’t been looking for a move.
Paulinho added: "Of course I did talk with my agent, it's normal when you are upset.
"But the talk of returning to Brazil never existed, it never crossed my mind."
