David Luiz confirmed he would be joining Paris Saint-Germain yesterday and one of his new team mates has been quick to lavish praise on the defender.
20-year-old Lucas Digne spoke to Foot Mercato about the Brazilian and revealed his delight at the new addition to the squad.
Inside Futbol quoted Digne, he said: “David Luiz is a great defender, everyone knows it. He is one of the best central defenders in the world.
“I think him and Thiago Silva will form a beautiful partnership. I think he is a very good signing for PSG. I’m very eager to play with him, of course.”
The fee reported to be bringing Luiz to Paris is around £50 million so Digne’s comments about the former Chelsea defender being amongst the worlds best should come as no surprise.
Even though he certainly isn’t worth the aforementioned figure, there is no doubt the prospect of seeing Luiz and Silva together for a club team is exciting, although maybe not for opposition forwards.
