Former Netherlands forward Johan Cruyff believes the favourites for the 2014 World Cup are the hosts Brazil, but he hasn’t ruled Spain just yet.

The former Barcelona coach and respected figure was speaking to Cadena Cope, with Football Espana quoting him.

Cruyff discussed a number of topics including his own country but feels Brazil have the best chance of success this summer.

He pointed to their successful Confederations Cup as an example of how they can play infront of their own fans.

Cruyff said: “The Netherlands are a young team and we’ll see if they are nervous or not. They have quality, just a lack of experience.

“Spain has all the experience in the most important competitions. For me they are a great team.

“The best candidate is Brazil, playing at home, and we saw what happened in the Confederations Cup.”
