Santos beat Bahia away to end winless runSantos have struggled with a loss of form to star man Damiao
Santos won their first game in four after beating Bahia away to move into mid table in the Brazilian championship after eight matches.
The Sao Paulo team had previously drawn two against Flamengo and Goias and lost at home to Atletico Mineiro since winning a Copa do Brasil game two weeks ago but took all three points last night thanks to second half goals from the aptly-named Alan Santos and Lucas Lima.
Santos, who were without the services of the likes of Leandro Damiao and Geuvanio, still sit five points off leaders Cruzeiro after this result, but have pushed away from the struggling sides at the bottom of the Serie A table, including big names Flamengo and Botafogo.
Santos now have just one game before the Brazilan domestic season halts to make way for the hosting of the World Cup; they play Criciuma at home on Sunday before a recess until July 15, two days after the international tournament ends.
