The CBF, the body in control of Brazilian football, has announced the dates for this year’s Copa do Brasil in a year where the domestic calendar faces upheaval due to the hosting of the World Cup in a few weeks’ time.

It is not until the fourth round that the six Brazilian Copa Libertadores teams enter proceedings, with defending domestic cup champions Flamengo part of that group.

The quarter and semi finals will take place in the month of October, with a two-legged final to be played on November 12 and 26.

Winners of the Copa do Brasil earn themselves a place in next year’s Libertadores, although Flamengo failed to take advantage of the place by going out in the group stages of this year’s tournament for only the second time in their history.
