Santos starlet Gabriel Barbosa, who is enjoying a fantastic debut season as the age of 17, has been declared fit for his team’s match tomorrow evening against Bahia after missing the weekend’s goalless draw at home to Flamengo.

Gabriel, who has hit double figures for the club already in 2014, has recovered from a thigh problem to lead the line for Santos in their penultimate game before the Brasileirao breaks up for a summer recess due to the hosting of the World Cup.

The player affectionately known as ‘Gabigol’ has earned rave reviews in his short career already, playing as he does for Santos, the club where current Brazil and Barcelona superstar Neymar made a name for himself before departing for Europe a year ago.

Santos play their final game before the summer on Sunday at home to Criciuma.
