Toronto FC goalkeeper Júlio César has praised the quality of Major League Soccer.

The 34 year-old, who is on loan from Queens Park Rangers, notes that more people attends games in the United States than they do in Brazil and believes the league is rapidly getting stronger.

“People said I was going to play in a Mickey Mouse league," he said, as reported by FIFA.com. “But I can say that the US league in the past few years has passed that of Brazil in terms of attendance – for my first game we had 45,000 people in the stadium.

"The US league is enjoying huge growth. I conceded nine goals [in seven games] so that was very annoying."

Júlio César joined Toronto from QPR in February. He has gone on to make seven appearances, keeping keeping two clean sheets.
