The Brazilian midfielder will be hoping to impress the former Southampton manager during pre-season training.

Following Tim Sherwood’s departure earlier this month, Sandro told ESPN Brasil that ‘it’s a new coach, a new everything,’ suggesting that he was optimistic about his future at Tottenham Hotspur.

But Sandro has been keeping his options open, with the player’s agent recently saying that he would be interested in a move to Italy.

The final decision on his future, however, is likely to be Pochettino’s.

The Argentine likes a strong central midfielder in his team, like Victor Wanyama, who he signed from Celtic for £12 million last summer.

Pochettino will judge Sandro on his work ethic and willingess to play within his system. At Southampton he showed little patience with players who would not conform.

If Sandro still wants to stay at the club, and demonstrates his commitment to the new manager, there might be a fresh start for him in north London.
