Victor tops World Cup goalkeeper poll
The Atlético-MG keeper received 52.4% of the votes, followed by Jefferson, with 45.7%.
Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari’s first-choice keeper, Julio Cesar, was backed by a lowly 1.83%.
More than 12,000 people voted in the SporTV.com survey, with Victor’s Libertadores 2013 heroics a likely factor in his first-place finish.
Of the three number ones, Julio Cesar is the only player to take part in a World Cup. In 2006 he was the third-choice keeper, and he then went on to start in South Africa four years ago.
