Oscar admits having a World Cup in Brazil and competing for his country in the tournament is as exciting as it gets

The Chelsea midfielder has been discussing how big 2014 has been for him in an exclusive interview with BT Sport programme ‘Made in Brazil.’

Daily Express quoted the 23-year-old on what he has coming up this year, he said: “I’m really pleased that this year will be big for me.

“I’m happy and excited the World Cup is going to my country and I hope it will be a great one. My daughter Julia is on her way. She is due just before the World Cup.”

Playing in a World Cup was just a dream for the Chelsea playmaker when he was a teenager making his way in the game.

And Oscar’s mother has revealed that her son was once the last picked during trials with São Paulo.

She said: “There were more than 300 boys, only six were chosen, and he was the last to be picked,” his mother recalls.

“So now we are going into the World Cup – wow! It’s very well, like, well I feel emotional. It’s a dream isn’t it? And that’s it.”
