Deschamps believes his side have no chance of glory in Brazil

The head coach doesn't fancy France's chances in 2014

France head coach Didier Deschamps, who won the World Cup as a player in 1998, has admitted that the current crop representing Les Bleus need a generous stroke of luck if they are to repeat the feat at the tournament in Brazil this summer.

Deschamps, whose side squeaked into the draw via a play-off win over Ukraine, told reporters: "I'm going to Brazil with lots of ambition, but I'm a realist too."

"There are countries that are much better than us on paper. We can't hide from the truth. The only match that France won in the group stage of a World Cup in the last 12 years was against Togo in 2006."

"I can't talk about winning the World Cup. To win it for us would be viewed as a miracle."

Descamps' troops have a kind draw to start with, with Group E fixtures against Ecuador, Switzerland and Honduras.
