Cruzeiro General Manager Valdir Barbosa has insisted midfielder Nilton will not be joining Internazionale.
Comments earlier today attributed to Sporting Director Alexandre Mattos confirmed negotiations were ongoing, but Barbosa claims that Cruzeiro are not satisfied with Inter’s desire to pay in instalments and now expects Nilton to remain with the club.
“I spoke with Sporting Director Alexandre Mattos and he told me that Inter had actually proposed a payment in four annual instalments of the amount required to purchase the player,” he told FCInterNews.it.
“However, Cruzeiro have refused the offer. Now the player will return to Belo Horizonte and will resume his training with our club starting on Monday.
“As far as I’m concerned, the matter ends here, because the player is going back home.”
Nilton has been a mainstay for Cruzeiro this season. The 27 year-old has featured in all six Brasileirão matches, scoring two goals.
