Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos seems set to leave the French capital after Chelsea defender David Luiz edged closer to his move to Paris.

The 20-year-old Brazilian only moved to the Ligue 1 club last season for a monumental figure of approximately £30.1 million and whilst he enjoyed a successful season with PSG, the anticipated addition of Luiz means a move away looks likely.

Globo reported that Barcelona may target the former Roma defender as they are in search for a defender this summer.

Chelsea’s Luiz was their preferred option but they may now switch their attention to PSG’s Marquinhos.

Only yesterday Football Direct News insisted that the young Brazilian would move this summer and they listed Real Madrid as a possible suitor.

The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the most talented defenders in Europe and will again command a hefty transfer fee.

Should Marquinhos move to another club, as predicted, it will be the youngster fourth team. At just the age of 20-years-old that is an astonishing record and the Brazilian international will hope he can settle wherever he ends up next.
