João Miranda and Diego Ribas have spoken to Globo this week ahead of Atlético Madrid’s Champions League final against Real Madrid and given their thoughts on the biggest game of the European club season.

Inside Spanish Football quoted the Brazilian duo about Atlético’s final match of the season and both were in positive spirits.

29-year-old Miranda believes the La Liga title victory will give Los Rojiblancos confidence ahead of the Champions League final in Lisbon.

He said: “Winning La Liga is not a problem, not a worry, but quite the opposite.

“It gives us confidence for the game against Real Madrid. (The Champions League) is everyone’s dream.”

Miranda can count himself unfortunate to have missed out on Luiz Felipe Scolari’s World Cup squad for Brazil and another man who missed out was former Santos star Diego.

Although the playmaker was never truly in contention he is hoping his team can complete a season double tonight.

Diego said: “We have a great opportunity. We hope to win the double in the next week.”
