Chelsea defender David Luiz, who is on the verge of joining French champions PSG, has taken to social media to thank the English club for his time in London after he tweeted a telling message to his fans last night.

The 27 year-old Brazil player, who can also operate in midfield, will likely move to Paris for a fee in the region of €50 million ahead of the World Cup after three season’s in England.

His tweet read: “Thanks Chelsea for three years and a half years of great sharing (sic)! Now I have challenges and will do my best to meet them. Go to Paris!”

Luiz has long been linked with a move thsi summer, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich also potential suitors, but it appears that the prospect of linking up once again with national teammate Thiago Silva is one that is too strong to turn down.

A move would also cast doubt over the future of Marquinhos, the young cnetre back looking ever-more the third choice at PSG ahead of the next campaign.
