Name: Henrique

Age: 27

Position: Defender/ Midfielder

Club: Napoli

Caps [goals]: 4 [0]

Something of a late call-up to the Brazilian national squad for the World Cup, Henrique is seen as a dependable member for coach Luiz Felipe Scolari in terms of covering both central defence and as a holding mifield player. Signed by Napoli from Palmeiras in January of this year, Henrique Adriano Buss got the nod ahead of the likes of Marquinhos and Joao Miranda.

Why has he been selected?

A dependable player under Scolari at Palmeiras, Henrique is well known by the head coach and has the requisite experience to be brought straight in if needed in defence or midfield to help close out games.

How has he played this season?

Henrique has now featured over ten times for his new club Napoli, having helped Palmeiras secure promotion back to the Brazilian top flight towards the end of 2013.

What will his role be in Brazil?

A classic squad player, Henrique might not be expected to feature too heavily in the early stages, but will come into the reckoning a bit more should injuries or suspensions kick in. He will be back up to Luiz Gustavo in midfield, and the fourth choice centre back for Brazil.
