Miranda concentrates on Atletico Madrid games after World Cup snubMiranda has seven caps for Brazil
Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda has shrugged off the diappointment at being omitted by Luiz Felipe Scolari for the imminent World Cup and insisted that he is focussed on challenges with his club side- notably the possibility of winning a league and cup double before the season has reached its conclusion.
The Spanish side could claim La Liga and the Champions League with victories over giants Barcelona and Real Madrid in the space of a week and Miranda told Goal: "I was sorry (about not being called up to the Brazil squad) but I'm at this club every day."
"It's amazing what's happening here and these two games we have to win."
In relation to the fitness of Brazil-born teammate Diego Costa, Miranda said: "he knows it's important to us and he will be ready to play."
Atletico face Barcelona in a winner-takes-all battle on Sunday, before travelling to Lisbon to face Real in the final of the sport's most prestigious club tournament the following Saturday.
