Santos continued their unbeaten month of May with a 4-2 win against Princess Solimao in the Copa do Barsil, wrapping up a comfortable 6-3 aggregate victory and easing them into the next round.

17 year-old Gabriel opened the scoring after 19 minutes, the youngster doing little to dispel the furore over his performances that have yielded 13 goals this year; he has already been labelled the ‘next Neymar’, despite the Barcelona man only being 22 himself.

An own goal then sandwiched strikes by Cicinho and Thiago Ribeiro to put the Sao Paulo side in a good place ahead of Sunday’s fixture with Atletico Mineiro, where a win would most probably move Santos into the top six.

The match was also interestingly the last game the Santos will play at the Belmiro until the World Cup is finished. Although the stadium won’t be hosting any games, it will be subject to FIFA use until after the tournament is finished on July 13.
